Meet Kelly Barkhurst—a graphic designer, developer, educator, creator of this blog, and mom who wears many creative hats! When the pandemic hit, Kelly wanted to make the most of her time at home with her kids. Her LEGO-loving children were constantly building and playing with their LEGO bricks, often inviting her to join in. While Kelly found herself struggling with constructing cars and kitchen scenes, she discovered her design superpower: typography!
Embracing her design expertise, Kelly turned her LEGO playtime into a creative project. She designed a unique 8-peg-wide alphabet and then photographed and digitized it to create personalized name decals. Her LEGO letters have become a hit, adding a fun and personal touch to LEGO nooks and rooms everywhere!
